Job Title:
Cloud Architect - Hybrid role

Location:
Glasgow city centre based with a company-wide remit. Hybrid working with 3 days per week at an office, data centre, or with clients. Occasional travel required.

About the Role:


Lorien's client is in search of a proficient Cloud Architect to architect and implement a state-of-the-art Cloud Framework that propels their innovative and industry-leading Cloud solutions.

Reporting directly to the Chief Technical Architect, you will formulate a detailed Cloud Architecture Strategy that aligns with their ambition of becoming the UK's foremost Secure Cloud Service provider.


Your responsibilities will include collaborating with senior stakeholders, crafting scalable and secure solutions, and ensuring our Cloud architecture remains agile and cost-efficient.

You will stay ahead of emerging technologies, assess their potential, and ensure their architecture evolves with industry trends.

By identifying and mitigating risks, and providing technical leadership, you will play a pivotal role in shaping their Cloud offerings.

Your role will also encompass guiding the Cloud engineering teams and promoting the adoption of best practices in DevOps, infrastructure as code, and automated release management.


About You:


To excel in this position, you will possess substantial experience as a Cloud Architect, ideally within a managed service provider, enterprise, or technology provider environment.

Your extensive knowledge of enterprise architecture principles and Cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure and VMware, will be complemented by your strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

You are someone who can think strategically while also having the hands-on technical expertise to propose and implement innovative solutions.


Your exceptional communication skills will enable you to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding across the board.

You have a natural ability to guide and mentor technical teams, fostering a collaborative culture that encourages high performance and resilience.

In a dynamic environment, you are adept at managing multiple priorities with a flexible and proactive approach.

You bring with you a solid educational background, including a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, coupled with a proven background in Cloud architecture.


Additionally, you will hold certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Solution Architect Expert and VMware Cloud Management & Automation, among others, and be eligible for SC Clearance.
