About the Role

The Digital Inclusion Lead will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all our patients, regardless of their digital literacy or access to technology, can fully benefit from our online and digital services. This role involves working closely with patients, healthcare providers, and community organizations to bridge the digital divide, promoting equitable access to digital health tools and resources.

This is a fast-paced healthcare job for individuals who don't mind hard work and long hours and are happy to show initiative. You will be managing patient queries and booking appointments in busy settings, but supported by a fantastic team. We are passionate about providing an easy and excellent patient experience for our patient population. We want to be leaders in improving patient access to healthcare and are excited for ideas and feedback on how to improve the patient and staff experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proven experience in digital inclusion, digital literacy training, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the barriers to digital access and the challenges faced by diverse communities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with patients from all backgrounds.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Passionate about health equity and improving access to healthcare for all.
Requirements
  • Able to work Monday to Friday, anytime from 8.45am to 5.30pm
  • Must be fluent in speaking English and Arabic

Job Description

The Digital Inclusion Lead will be present at front of house, in direct contact with patients face-to-face at all times of day, helping patients access digital applications, improve digital literacy as well as enhance the patient experience. Predominantly based in the waiting room supporting patients with NHS app registration and use, as well as providing general health screening such as blood pressure checks and general support.

As part of your role, you will be required to be trained, and at times working in reception and admin, and this will be part of your duties.

Reception Duties
  • Opening/closing the surgery
  • Greeting patients
  • Booking patient appointments
  • Answering telephone calls promptly
  • Monitoring call times using our cloud-based telephone dashboard
  • Signposting patients to the appropriate services
  • Liaising with medical team members
  • Processing repeat prescription requests
  • Asking for support from the admin team when the phone is busy
Administrator Duties
  • Monitoring and actioning the practice emails
  • Completing and coding online patient registrations
  • Registering patients for online services
  • Managing and sending referrals
  • Re-calling patients for reviews/appointments
  • Stocking rooms and inventory check
  • Actioning doctor tasks and managing the results over the phone
  • Recording meeting minutes
  • Processing all Out of Area and Patient Warning letters
  • Actioning GP2GP tasks
  • When the telephone line is busy, helping reception by answering calls
  • Processing requests for information i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitor letters and DVLA forms
  • Partaking in adult and child safeguarding care and audits
Additional Responsibilities
  • Suggesting improvements to our practice and your job role, in practice meetings
  • Applying practice policies, standards, and guidance and helping improve these policies
  • Partaking in audit as directed by the audit lead
