About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Independent Living Specialist to join our team at The Guinness Partnership. As an Independent Living Specialist, you will be responsible for providing an intensive housing management service to our customers, ensuring they receive the support they need to maintain their independence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain successful customer relationships, providing guidance and support to help them navigate our services.
  • Assist prospective customers in viewing properties and settling into their accommodation, ensuring a smooth transition.
  • Manage tenancy matters, including rent and service charge payments, and provide referrals for assistive technology, aids, and adaptations.
  • Conduct periodic site inspections and tests to ensure our schemes are fully operational and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor the quality of contractors, such as window cleaning and grounds maintenance, to ensure high standards are maintained.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with vulnerable adults, with a proven ability to foster a spirit of co-operation and independence.
  • Demonstrable commitment to equality and diversity, with a strong understanding of the importance of inclusive practices.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to suit individual needs, including explaining technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Previous experience with administrative tasks, including numeracy work, and a strong understanding of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
