About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead our HVDC Engineering scope for assigned projects/packages. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering solutions while ensuring the safety and reliability of our transmission network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Project Engineering Managers, Lead Project Managers, and Project Managers to identify, understand, and manage engineering and quality risks.
  • Maintain direct line management responsibilities for project engineers and coordinate all engineering activities, including the selection and management of engineering consultants and technical direction of contractors.
  • Ensure that project technical requirements are clearly communicated to project teams, stressing the importance of referring technical issues to engineering.
  • Promote and manage safety within the project portfolio, including implementing Safety in Design, CDM procedures, and Principle Designer practices in collaboration with the Project Manager.
Requirements
  • A degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (preferably CEng) coupled with significant experience leading multi-discipline teams.
  • Good technical knowledge of the Transmission network, with an understanding of core elements, and high-level technical understanding of facilitating functions along with an understanding of legal and regulatory obligations for Transmission.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and its implications for Transmission network management for both Assets and Projects, including CDM and ESQCR.
  • Strong relationships and understanding of consultants and external industry experts, along with the ability to communicate and challenge complex technical issues and recommendations clearly and concisely to facilitate decision-making by senior management.
