Job Title: 1st Line NOC Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled 1st Line NOC Engineer to join our team in Wigan. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for ensuring that service levels are achieved by providing prompt and effective resolution to incidents and problems that require specialist technical skills to resolve across our client base.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide detailed advice and guidance to customers on the effective use of systems, products, and services covered by the team.
  2. Identify and investigate problems to diagnose underlying causes and help customers to recover and continue operation.
  3. For all requests that cannot be resolved immediately, provide an effective interface between customers and service providers supplying all necessary diagnostic information, according to established procedures.
  4. Use judgment to set priority for resolution, monitor progress, and apply escalation procedures for problems not progressing satisfactorily.
  5. Provide remote technical support during projects for on-site install engineers.
Requirements

  1. Experience of working within a network environment or support desk.
  2. Good attention to detail.
  3. Organised and able to prioritise tasks.
  4. Excellent communication skills with a professional telephone manner.
  5. Ability to demonstrate a practical approach when faced with problems or challenges.
  6. Commitment and willingness to learn.
  7. Enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  8. Excellent timekeeping, reliability, and trustworthiness.
