Job Description

The Category Buyer role at Surya Foods involves overseeing all procurement and purchasing activities, requiring experience in cross-functional buying, including Frozen, Ambient, Chilled, and Beverages. Experience in World Foods is advantageous.

This is a full-time on-site role located in Harwich, England, although hybrid arrangements may be considered for the right candidate. The Category Buyer will collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of goods at an optimum cost while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procure and purchase goods from suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize purchasing processes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Develop and implement effective negotiation and purchasing strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze purchasing data to inform business decisions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Category Buying role with a proven track record of effective negotiation and purchasing.
  • Experience in World Foods is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Program Theoretical Optimal Price (T.O.P) management technique is an asset.
