This is a dynamic role that requires a strong analytical mindset and experience in managing high-value procurement projects. The successful candidate will contribute to the Estates Management Strategy and be involved in significant procurement projects, ensuring compliance with public contracts legislation.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute procurement strategies to support University objectives.
- Manage high-value procurement projects (over £10m) from initial sourcing to contract mobilization.
- Oversee the drafting and management of tender documents and contractual agreements to ensure best value proposals.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize service delivery and cost-efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and public procurement legislation.
- Lead procurement-led transformation programs and cost-reduction initiatives.
- Provide expertise and guidance on procurement practices to non-specialists within the University.
- Extensive procurement experience within a construction or facilities management environment.
- Must have managed tier 1 contracts.
- Familiarity with modern procurement techniques, value for money, and whole-life costing.
- Experience managing procurement projects exceeding £10m.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using e-tendering systems.
- Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), qualified to level 4 or above.
