About the RoleAce Centre is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an AAC Technician. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, ensuring they have access to the latest assistive technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support and maintenance for assistive technology equipment, including setup, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Work closely with clinicians to ensure that clients receive the best possible support and services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, their families, and caregivers to ensure that their needs are met.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in assistive technology and communicate these to the team.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of operational procedures and training manuals.
- BTEC Higher National Certificate (HNC) or higher qualification in a related computer, software, or electronic engineering subject or equivalent relevant experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of people.
- Practical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks, with a methodical and attention-to-detail approach.
- Car driver with own use of own car and appropriate business insurance.
- AT/AAC training.
- Technical knowledge of a range of AT and AAC resources, including apps such as Grid 3, Nuvoice, and NovaChat.
- Ability to set up and maintain systems for short-term loan of equipment.
- Knowledge of legislative and policy requirements relating to equipment management and maintenance.
- Aware of, and sensitive to, the needs of individuals with disabilities.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic team member.
- Methodical with excellent attention to detail.
- Willing to work flexibly when required.
