Job Title: Area Site Technician

About the Role:

This is a key position within our facilities management team, responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across multiple site locations.

As an Area Site Technician, you will be the first point of contact for all maintenance issues, working closely with our customers to ensure that all technical and compliance paperwork is completed accurately and up to date.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timescales
  • Responding promptly and positively to service call requests from the Helpdesk
  • Prioritizing maintenance and repair work to achieve agreed timescales and response times
  • Delivering reactive and planned fire alarm system maintenance
  • Conducting emergency lighting tests and repairs
  • Following purchase order process
  • Identifying non-repairable faults in plant and machinery and advising the Line Manager of findings
  • Maintaining compliance documentation and ensuring it is up to date at all times
  • Advising on-site customers of any repair and maintenance issues that may affect the smooth running of the site
  • Carrying out surveys and completing reports as required by City management
  • Completing general repairs and maintenance to customer sites as designated by City management
  • Attending training courses as necessary to ensure personal job skills keep pace with technical developments
  • Complying with the company Health and Safety Policy at all times
  • Representing the company in a professional manner at all times and developing good working relationships with City and customer employees

Financial Responsibility:

This role is responsible for logging material spending and purchasing.

People Responsibility:

This role is currently responsible for supervising AMT on technical works and PPM, and building good relationships with all colleagues and customers.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Educated to GCSE / Standard Grade level as a minimum, ideally NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/Maintenance
  • City and Guilds 18th Edition or equivalent
  • 3 phase electrics and its applications
  • Ability to maintain and repair a wide range of electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Quality of repairs and maintenance
  • Speed and efficiency of work
  • Response to service call requests within agreed response times
  • Achievement of PPM schedule within agreed timescales
  • Maintenance of the Health and Safety policy
  • Client and City colleague relationships and feedback
