Our client, a leading provider of structural steelwork and architectural steelwork services, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects across various industries.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for structural steelwork, architectural steelwork, site erections, installations, and steelwork design services.
- Conduct thorough cost analysis and value engineering exercises to optimise project costs and maximise profitability.
- Procure subcontractor and supplier quotations, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
- Monitor project costs and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain budgetary control.
- Prepare and submit interim valuations, progress reports, and final accounts in accordance with contract requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to resolve any commercial issues or disputes that may arise during the project.
- Bachelor's degree in Estimation, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on structural steelwork and architectural steelwork projects.
- Thorough understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and commercial management principles.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to accurately estimate and assess project costs.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Proficiency in quantity surveying software and MS Office applications.
