Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Officer to join our client based in Peterborough on a 3-month interim contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing written communications, and ensuring the integrity and security of the payroll system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain Accurate Records
    • Ensure all payroll data is up-to-date and accurate
    • Prepare written communications to customers and other organizations
  • Process Payroll Data
    • Process new starters and leavers, mileage, and overtime claims
    • Meet monthly deadlines for payroll processing
  • Issue Monthly Payslips
  • Ensure Compliance
    • Ensure data is sufficient and in a format that meets legislative requirements
    • Produce and issue relevant tax forms, such as P45 and P60
Requirements
  • Experience
    • Experience within a public sector would be beneficial
    • Understanding and experience of payroll and pensions processing and legislation
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Impeccable eye for detail and accuracy
    • Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
