About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Water Specialist to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for examining the hydraulics of systems to calculate and specify pump systems, developing plant room layouts, and ensuring designs meet the required performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pumping calculations and specifications
  • Production of system schematics
  • Production of equipment and drive schedules
  • Production of engineering specification documents in relation to hydraulics and pump systems
  • Working with clients to assist with project delivery, asset and network performance, and design
  • Production of lifting, access, and maintenance plans
  • Liaising with internal and external design teams, clients, and contractors as appropriate
  • Providing timely reporting to clients and internal team leads
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 'C/4' or above, including Mathematics & English
  • Three A-Levels (or equivalent such as a BTEC Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) including Maths and a physical science at grade 'C' or above - essential for level 6 Degree Apprenticeship
  • Some work experience or shadowing in an engineering environment would be an advantage
  • Demonstrate an interest and a desire to pursue a career in Mechanical Engineering
  • Show an aptitude towards software-based engineering and drawing, e.g. Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other similar 3D software
  • Commitment to continued education and improvement through on-the-job learning and training opportunities
  • Creative, practical, adaptable, and enthusiastic
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail
  • Ability to think in a methodical way to design, plan, and organize parts of projects
  • English language proficient, holding excellent communication skills to present information in speech, drawings, and reports
