Job Overview

Search is seeking an experienced Music Solicitor with 4-7 years' PQE to join our team. As a leading law firm, we provide a comprehensive service for a broad range of corporate and individual clients.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have gained experience from a highly regarded music practice or gained experience in-house. As part of the role, you can expect to advise on a wide range of contract and commercial matters for a diverse range of clients including recording artists, songwriters, producers, record labels, music publishers, and industry executives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on contract and commercial matters for clients in the music industry
  • Work closely with labels, publishers, and international music companies on their commercial and corporate activities
  • Assist with sales and acquisitions of master recording and publishing catalogues, asset sales of recorded music rights, and joint venture arrangements
  • Collaborate with the specialist music litigation team on infringement claims, recover royalties, or deal with highly sensitive reputation management issues

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 4-7 years' PQE in a music practice or in-house
  • Experience in advising clients on contract and commercial matters
  • Strong knowledge of the music industry and its commercial activities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
