Job Description

At Capgemini Engineering, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Siemens TIA Portal PLC Engineer to join our engineering team within the defence sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test PLC-based control systems, primarily using Siemens TIA Portal, for mission-critical defence applications.
  • Implement inter-PLC communication using various protocols, such as Ethernet/IP and Profibus.
  • Participate in risk assessments, FMEAs, and safety analysis related to control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with mechanical and electrical systems.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in PLC programming with Siemens TIA Portal in a defence or similarly regulated industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Siemens S7-1200/1500 PLCs, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
  • Solid understanding of electrical control systems, instrumentation, and automation principles.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and risk assessments in the defence sector.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
