Health and Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Recra Consulting. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with current health and safety legislation and best practices within the industry.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct Regular Site Inspections: Ensure all site risk assessments, including fire safety, operational safety, manual handling, COSHH, DSE, and noise assessments, are up to date, reviewed regularly, and in line with best practices.
- Investigate Accidents and Near Misses: Thoroughly investigate all accidents and near misses, following group systems and reporting procedures, and maintain accurate and accessible documentation.
- Monitor Health and Safety Equipment: Monitor and maintain health and safety equipment checks.
- Support Training and Development: Collaborate with the training department to deliver and evaluate health and safety training programs and toolbox talks in accordance with divisional recommendations.
- Chair Health and Safety Committee Meetings: Chair health and safety committee meetings and drive results.
- Design Promotional Campaigns: Design and implement promotional campaigns to maintain health and safety awareness.
- Support Site Inductions: Provide support for site inductions, ensuring new colleagues and transferees understand their health and safety responsibilities.
- Maintain Quality Accreditations: Assist the Group Health and Safety Manager in maintaining quality accreditations.
- Support External Audits: Play a major role during external audits.
- Continuously Improve Health and Safety Management: Continuously seek opportunities to improve the site's health and safety management system.
- Engineering Background: Ideally from an Engineering background.
- Health and Safety Qualifications: IOSH General Certificate in OHS or equivalent.
- Fire Safety Certificate: IOSH Fire Certificate (desirable).
- Proven Experience: Proven experience in a similar role.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and health and safety information systems to produce accurate and visually engaging reports.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Manufacturing Site Safety Standards: Familiarity with manufacturing site safety standards.
- Legislation Knowledge: Up to date with current legislation.
- Self-Driven and Enthusiastic: Self-driven, enthusiastic, and capable of delivering, reporting, and advising on KPI performance.
