Job Title: Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Contract Type: Permanent

Our client, a reputable food manufacturer, is seeking a highly skilled Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join their team in Bath & Bristol. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of production machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain all production machinery, both electrically and mechanically, to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.
  • Minimize unplanned stops of production facilities through effective maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • Proactively identify and engineer out process and machine failure modes.
  • Develop and execute effective Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs and planned maintenance routines to maximize machine availability and deliver OEE levels in line with company metrics.
  • Manage breakdowns and planned servicing of plant and equipment, including installation and commissioning.
  • Perform general day-to-day maintenance activities, including reading and understanding of electrical, mechanical, and fluid drawings.
  • Assess and procure external spares and resources as required to minimize downtime of process and plant machinery.
  • Maintain safety stock levels of long lead maintenance spare items for key processes.
  • React to plant facilities breakdowns, locate the fault, analyze the issue, and complete the fix in a timely manner to minimize operation downtime.
  • Work closely with other departments to increase machine reliability on existing and new equipment, diagnose equipment breakdowns, and action repairs.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • The post holder must demonstrate previous knowledge and experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role, specifically in electrical and mechanical maintenance engineering.
  • Strong team-working experience, with the drive and flexibility to maintain pace of work as priorities and requirements change.
  • A maintenance professional with Health and Safety knowledge, including risk assessments.
  • Experience of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in a multi-skilled maintenance role in electrical, mechanical, and facilities maintenance.
  • Proactive in Risk Management strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office tools.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and education.
  • Experience and knowledge of CI tools, Lean, and the drive to develop Six Sigma skills through external training bodies.
  • Relevant qualification in Health, Safety, and Environmental field.
  • Trained in Six Sigma (Yellow Belt minimum) and have a proven track record of implementation.
