Head/VP of Chemistry

BioTalent is partnering with a leading Biotech company to fill the position of Head/VP of Chemistry. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the chemistry department and drive the strategy for a pipeline of small molecule projects targeting proteins.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the chemistry department and drive the strategy for small molecule projects targeting proteins.
  • Build and maintain a collaborative, motivating, and success-driven environment.
  • Define and execute hiring and staffing plans, onboarding and training new hires.
  • Provide leadership to advance first-in-class projects.
  • Prepare for internal and external presentations of scientific progress, strategies, plans, resources, assumptions, risks, and data.
  • Work closely with biology and other scientific leaders to ensure overall program success.
  • Align closely with the executive team on corporate goals.
  • Select and manage CROs for chemistry support.
  • Prepare for presentations at Board Meetings, investor calls, and BD meetings.
  • Define and execute IP strategy in the context of small molecule filings.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in small molecule drug discovery in a Biotech/Pharma industry.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams of scientists.
