Culinary Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Culinary Assistant to join our team at the Education Authority. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our food service.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals, including menu planning, portion control, and special dietary meals.
- Contribute to the control of hygiene, health, and safety in the kitchen, including temperature recording and inventory management.
- Support the direction and supervision of other employees, including training and development.
- Undertake operational control of service points, including transported meals.
- Perform associated administrative duties, such as stock-taking, store organization, and receipt of deliveries.
- Participate in general kitchen duties, including washing up, equipment setup, and cleaning.
- Assist in promoting the service to parents, principals, and customers to increase uptake.
- Secure premises as required.
General Conditions
- Comply with Acts of Parliament, Statutory Instruments, and Regulations, as well as Codes of Practice.
- Work in accordance with the working conditions inherent in the job.
- Complete necessary administration as required.
- Perform duties up to and including those in the same grade, within the competence of the employee.
- Promote and adhere to the Values/ethos of the School.
