Job Title: Chef de Partie

The Best Connection is seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to provide maternity cover for our prestigious client based in Dartford. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will support the Chef Manager in managing daily kitchen activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, cook, and present high-quality breakfast and lunch dishes in accordance with the published menu plan.
  • Support the Chef Manager in developing recipes and ideas.
  • Act as the responsible person in the absence of the Chef Manager, providing cover and support for junior staff members.
  • Take customer orders, serve meals and snacks, and operate the till.
  • Ensure the food preparation, storage, and serving areas are clean and hygienic.
  • Support with the daily order of stock and replenishment of items.
  • Support with the washing of tableware and cleaning of food preparation equipment, floors, and other kitchen tools and areas.
  • Complete relevant paperwork and documentation and file in the appropriate locations.
  • Greet and liaise with food service contractors as and when required.
  • Maintain an awareness of waste control and dispose of waste.
Requirements:
  • Experience in all aspects of cooking, baking, and menu development.
  • Experience in the principles of Basic Food Hygiene and recognised catering regulations.
  • The ability to work to own initiative without close supervision.
  • A strong awareness of and full commitment to the adherence of health and safety.
  • The ability to thrive under pressure in challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Basic computer literacy with experience of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Level 2 (essential).
  • NVQ L2 in Hospitality or Catering (desirable).
