UK Logistics Procurement Category Manager

We are seeking a seasoned procurement professional to lead our UK Logistics Category. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive procurement strategy that drives cost savings, improves supplier relationships, and enhances our overall logistics operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a procurement strategy that aligns with our business objectives and drives value for our organization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and agreements that meet our needs.
  • Manage large spends, ensuring effective cost management and minimizing risk.
  • Implement a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programme to optimize supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of procurement activities with business operations.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure our procurement activities remain compliant and effective.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in logistics procurement, with a strong understanding of the category and its nuances.
  • Excellent commercial acumen, with the ability to negotiate complex contracts and agreements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
