About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Cost Manager to join our team at Future Build Recruitment. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for managing the financial performance of multiple residential construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Budget Oversight: Take full control of project budgets, ensuring accurate financial planning and monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.
- Procurement Leadership: Manage the end-to-end procurement process, working with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the best value for the business.
- Progress Valuations & Payments: Ensure interim valuations are prepared and submitted on time while keeping a close eye on project cash flow and payment schedules.
- Contract Management: Administer all contracts, addressing variations and resolving disputes to maintain smooth project execution.
- Financial Tracking: Create detailed cost reports and forecasts, providing key insights to senior management and project teams on project performance.
- Risk Assessment: Identify financial risks early in the project and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the project's profitability.
- Mentoring & Support: Work closely with junior surveyors, offering guidance and ensuring a consistent approach to cost management across projects.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the residential construction sector, with a focus on new build housing or apartments.
- A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, with membership in a professional body such as RICS being an advantage.
- Proficiency in construction contracts such as JCT and NEC, and familiarity with cost management software.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build lasting relationships with key stakeholders.
- A strong eye for detail, with the ability to provide accurate financial insights and tackle challenges as they arise.
