About the Role
The LivingCare Group (Fountain Diagnostic) is seeking a skilled Healthcare Assistant to join our team as a Patient Support Specialist. As a key member of our care team, you will provide essential support to our Registered Nurses in delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care with the patient, in accordance with instructions and training received.
- Contribute to a team approach to patient care, working collaboratively with all members of the team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Assist with auditing and stock checks, and manage stock levels as required.
- Set up and prepare clinical areas in line with service requirements.
- Contribute to the accuracy and legality of patient care plans and reports.
- Participate in regular meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
- Undertake tasks and procedures, in which competency has been assessed and recorded, specific to the care environment.
- Meet and greet patients, ensuring personal details are checked against provided information.
- Engage with patients, provide reassurance, and answer questions.
- Perform administrative duties and case management on system 1.
- Report data and information via the correct channels.
- Ensure all processes for carrying out swabbing are followed as per policy.
- Run POCT devices as per protocol.
- Obtain adequate verbal consent for swabbing procedures, as per guidance.
- Prepare swabbing kits for patient arrival.
- Provide support and assistance to Registered staff.
- Maintain stock levels, including pharmaceutical products, as directed by the Registered Lead Nurse.
- Maintain clinic cleanliness and tidiness, adhering to infection control policy and procedures.
- Receive and convey information from telephone or personal enquiries in a courteous manner.
- Assist and support Registered Nurses and clerical staff in administrative duties as required.

- 1 Year of Healthcare Experience (Desirable)
- Outpatients Experience (Desirable)
Qualifications
- GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths (Essential)
