Kandhu Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Fresh Produce Buyer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for sourcing and procuring high-quality fresh produce for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Supplier Management: Manage the performance of suppliers and product range, ensuring that all operational sites are supplied on time and in full with competitively valued produce requirements.
- Negotiation and Contract Management: Participate in supplier approval processes, ensuring compliance with all due diligence prior to acceptance, and negotiate best value for the business.
- Stock Level Management: Accountable for stock level management, considering storage capacity, costs, quality, residency limits, use, and best purchasing price.
- Supply Chain Optimization: Ensure continuation of year-round supply and identify complementary sources to secure and enhance market share.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Produce Buyer in a similar role within the fresh food industry.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven experience of contract and supply negotiation.
- Technical Skills: Strong skills in the MS Office package, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with high levels of numeracy and literacy essential.
- Supply Chain Knowledge: A thorough understanding of the supply value chain, including air, sea, and land freight, and customer requirements.
- Time Management: Proven experience of working to strict deadlines with the ability to accurately and methodically multitask.
- Global Sourcing: An understanding of the global seasonal effects and the ability to source from alternative suppliers.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional listening and communication skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and take decisive action.
