Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Laminator Fitter to join our client in a manufacturing environment where they will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and bonding composite materials to create durable, lightweight structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Workstations: Clean and apply release agents to moulds and work surfaces to ensure a smooth laminating process.
- Composite Material Assembly: Cut, lay-up, and fit composite materials, such as carbon fiber, according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
- Resin Application: Apply resin and bonding agents to composite materials, ensuring even distribution and proper adhesion.
- Component Assembly: Use hand tools, power tools, and precision instruments to assemble and fit composite components.
- Quality Control: Inspect laminated parts for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards and tolerances.
- Component Finishing: Trim, sand, and finish laminated components to achieve specified dimensions and surface finishes.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with production team leaders and quality control to ensure all parts meet required specifications.
- Workplace Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of laminating tools and equipment.
Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in laminating, fitting, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of composite materials and laminating techniques.
- Communication Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in laminating and fitting processes.
