Astute Recruitment is seeking a Compliance and Risk Officer to join an established company in the financial services sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and varied role. Reporting to the Head of Compliance & Risk, you will have a minimum of two years' experience in a similar position, ideally in the financial services industry. You will be self-motivated, with effective communication and interpersonal skills. Experience of working within financial services regulatory and legal frameworks is essential (FCA and/or PRA, SM&CR, etc.).

  • Assist the Senior Managers (SMF role holders) in complying with FCA principles, rules, legislation
  • Deliver compliance awareness training to stakeholders at all levels
  • Maintain the Compliance Monitoring Plan, ensuring adequate key risk management
  • Produce management information for the Board of Directors, and business risk committees
  • Assist in maintaining a strong compliance culture
  • Conduct internal second-line audits and report to stakeholders
  • Coordinate the internal audit schedule
  • Maintain the company's risk register
  • Manage the Incident Management system, including provision of MI to stakeholders
  • Conduct compliance reviews of financial promotions
  • Support the DPA Officer with DPA compliance

In this role, you will have a minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a similar position and/or industry – financial services sector ideally. You must be able to evidence relevant experience and knowledge. You will have strong interpersonal skills, be organized, MS Suite literate, accurate, and a good communicator.

In return, you will be offered a competitive salary of £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience and qualifications. You will also receive a range of benefits, including:

Working hours will be Monday to Friday 8:30am – 4:45pm with 45 minutes for lunch. Hybrid working - two days home working, three days office working - with induction training to be conducted from the office.
