About the Role:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Practitioner to join our team. As a Senior Procurement Practitioner, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and monitoring procurement activity for specific items or scopes of work assigned.
Key Responsibilities:- Execution of the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring delivery of information, products, and services to quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Continually review supplier performance and communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Independently undertake transactional procurement activity, including raising Request for Quotations, negotiating price and lead times, creating and managing purchase orders, expediting delivery, and managing payments.
- Undertake supplier assessment and due diligence activity to ensure the effective selection of suppliers to meet business needs.
- Record and report cost savings/cost avoidance.
- Communicate with suppliers and internal/external stakeholders, resolving routine problems and quality issues, and escalating complex/high-impact issues when necessary.
- Apply awareness of risk and opportunity management to address low-impact risks within contract management activity.
- Update systems such as SAP, eDMS, Teamcenter with quality, accurate information.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience in procurement, preferably in a Defence organisation.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and procedures.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
