Job Description

Job Title: Head of Commercial Operations

Job Summary:

The Head of Commercial Operations will lead and manage all commercial activities of The HR Dept, through developing and implementing an innovative, growth-focused commercial strategy and nurturing partnerships. The role is responsible for shaping the presence of the company's brand experience and product: both within the local business community; while maintaining a clear understanding of the demographic of the local area and its businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies according to the company's goals and objectives, aiming to accelerate growth in the local, national and international markets.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.).
  • Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring.
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management.
  • Make suggestions to develop and enhance the current facilities provided by the company.
  • Work closely with the Community Trust, Women's and Academy Department to provide the company with links in the development of future business.
  • Carry out all administration tasks relevant to the role and maintain records and databases in line with company systems.
  • Liaise with the company's Data Protection Officer (DPO) to ensure the completion of the relevant legal paperwork for new integrations and projects.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of successful strategy development and implementation, including return on investment
  • Experience of commercial contracts including rights negotiation
  • Demonstrable experience building excellent working relationships and dealing with senior stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Strong IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft packages and experience in using CRM systems
  • Demonstrable planning, organisational and administrative skills with the ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload and manage sensitive data confidentially
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
  • Resilient, flexible and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work without supervision when needed, to deadlines and with a pro-active desire to improve efficiencies, processes & working practices
