A&P NORTH EAST – Welding Instructor

Are you passionate about sharing your expertise and guiding the next generation of welders? This position offers a unique opportunity to influence and develop aspiring professionals in the welding field.

We seek an individual with extensive experience in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and MMA, to deliver practical training and mentorship to our apprentices as they hone their skills.

Key Responsibilities as a Welding Instructor at A&P Group:

  • Provide hands-on training to apprentices, demonstrating effective welding methods and offering constructive feedback to enhance their skill set.
  • Facilitate the onboarding and site induction process for new apprentices, ensuring they are well-prepared and understand the importance of safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with the Training Officer and Fabrication team to design, develop, and refine training modules that meet apprenticeship standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with the team to schedule tests and examinations for apprentices, ensuring they are adequately prepared to pass necessary trade assessments.
  • Conduct regular progress reviews with apprentices, managers, and skilled tradespeople to monitor attendance and development, providing feedback to address any challenges.
  • Continuously assess training effectiveness by reviewing progress against established objectives.
  • Oversee the maintenance of equipment alongside apprentices, ensuring all tools are in safe and operational condition.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • A strong desire to impart knowledge and experience to future engineers.
  • Proven ability to engage, mentor, and motivate young adults.
  • Industry experience that has equipped you with a clear understanding of best practices.
  • Proficiency in general welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and MMA.
  • Experience in training apprentices is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Welding and Fabrication Apprenticeship regulations is beneficial, though training will be provided.
