Carrington West is seeking a dedicated Highways Compliance Officer to join our team.

Role Overview:
The Highways Compliance Officer will be responsible for conducting thorough and systematic inspections, assessments, and evaluations of street and road works, ensuring adherence to the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and compile evidence to support enforcement actions related to breaches of highway regulations and health & safety standards.
  • Assist the Network Manager in legal proceedings, providing testimony and evidence in court cases concerning public highway activities.
  • Support the Senior Technician with matters related to highway licenses and diversion routes, ensuring operational continuity during their absence.
  • Utilize the NRSWA street works noticing system to monitor and investigate notices related to street works and highway licenses.
  • Lead a coring program, gathering data, conducting investigations, and reporting findings to the Network Manager.
  • Participate in site meetings to offer guidance on temporary traffic management issues.
  • Represent the highway and water management authority at public meetings, providing technical insights on various schemes.
  • Identify and escalate any emergencies encountered on the highway network.
  • Conduct specialized data analysis and audits to enhance contract monitoring and service performance.
