Job Summary:

The 1st Connection is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Deployment Manager to lead and supervise an in-house software project and team. As a key member of our Technology team, you will be responsible for developing the underlying architecture for all software products and development, managing multiple software projects, and ensuring they meet key milestones on time and align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership:
    • Develop the underlying architecture for all software products and development.
    • Manage and oversee multiple software projects to ensure they meet key milestones on time and align with organizational goals.
    • Develop software solutions by studying information needs, conferring with users, studying systems flow, data usage, and work processes, and investigating problem areas.
    • Design and conduct tests and implement systems for software automation, continuous integration, and deployment.
    • Demonstrate programming ability using C# and.NET and a willingness to learn additional languages and frameworks as needed.
    • Stay updated by researching new technologies and participating in educational opportunities.
    • Ensure ongoing compliance with legal, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Development:
    • Line manage a team of 6 by appraising, setting personal development plans, and objectives and conducting regular one-on-ones.
    • Foster an environment of continuous personal and professional learning.
    • Serve as a technical mentor and adviser to the team and across the organization.
    • Lead the team in pushing the boundaries of innovation and technology.
  • Other Duties:
    • Deputize for the CTO when required.
    • Collaborate closely with the CTO and the Head of IT to manage day-to-day operations and contribute to the long-term strategy for the Technology team.
    • Guide cross-functional teams through complex projects and organizational changes.
    • Prepare documentation and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders in verbal or written/presentation formats.

Requirements:

  • Strong project management and leadership qualities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deputize for the CTO.
  • Experience in C#,.NET, and source control is advantageous.

What We Offer:

The 1st Connection offers a competitive salary of £85k plus an extensive benefits package. While working from home is acceptable as needed, the expectation is to spend at least a few days a week in the Cambridge office.
