About the Role

We are seeking experienced relief chefs to join our team at Tomtain Recruitment. As a relief chef, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, including hotels, restaurants, and event caterers, in the St. Andrews, Dundee, Perth, Fife, and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run a section during service
  • Prepare and carry out prep lists to ensure mise en place is ready
  • Order ingredients for the kitchen
  • Work across different sections in the kitchen
  • Log temperature checks, keep the kitchen clean and tidy, and carry out any other health & hygiene practices
  • Take overall responsibility for running the kitchen on more senior bookings

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a good attitude, be dependable, and be willing to work to the specs, recipes, and standards that each client requests. You should also be flexible and able to adapt to different kitchens and situations.

What We Offer

As a relief chef with Tomtain Recruitment, you can expect to earn good rates, with hourly rates varying between £15 to £21 per hour. You will also have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients and gain experience in different kitchens. We promise to do our best to offer bookings that are suitable for you, based on your experience and what you are looking for.

How We Work

We take the welfare of our candidates seriously and build long-term relationships with our chefs and clients. We will communicate clearly and efficiently with you about bookings, and deal with any issues promptly. We also ensure that all details of bookings are communicated clearly and promptly.

Pay and Benefits

Relief chefs are paid weekly on an hourly basis, one week in hand. You will also accrue holiday pay in addition to the quoted hourly rate for every hour worked. You will receive a weekly payslip and be eligible for a workplace pension after 3 months.
