About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our Generation Team at Ecotricity. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the development, design, and installation of new renewable energy projects, including solar farms, wind farms, gas plants, and battery storage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Lead Electrical Project Manager in taking generation projects from concept to final design and build.
  • Secure grid connections and manage the connection application process.
  • Liaise with National Grid, DNOs, and OFGEM to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop specifications and set employer requirements for electrical design development.
  • Manage tendering processes for feasibility studies and project delivery.
  • Provide project management during the construction phase, including adherence to health and safety and technical oversight of the design and construction.
  • Prepare drawings and carry out site technical surveys as required.
  • Identify and manage design risks and communicate to stakeholders.
  • Travel to sites as required and ensure an onsite presence during the development and construction phases.

Requirements:

  • Higher education qualification in an electrical engineering discipline or similar discipline.
  • Experience in the design and operation of electrical equipment and distribution systems.
  • Knowledge of wind turbines and solar PV installations and their control systems, including HV and LV transformers, cables, switchgear, and SCADA.
  • Knowledge of G99, G100, ENA, and Transmission application and compliance processes.
  • Proven project management and delivery skills.
  • Ability to work independently with remote management and take responsibility for project delivery.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly verbal communication.
  • Computing skills, including CAD, MS Office, and MS Project.
