Position Overview

The National Archives is seeking a knowledgeable specialist in eighteenth-century collections to contribute to our public engagement initiatives as we approach significant historical milestones. This role requires a deep understanding of our collections and the ability to uncover and communicate compelling narratives related to the American Revolution and its repercussions.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be tasked with:

  • Conducting original research to reveal new insights and stories from the collections.
  • Engaging effectively with the public to share findings through various formats.
  • Collaborating with team members while managing individual projects and timelines.

Work Arrangement

This is a full-time position, with flexibility for part-time or job-sharing arrangements considered based on departmental needs. A combination of remote and onsite work is possible, with a requirement to be present at our Kew site for a substantial portion of the workweek.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in researching collections for public exhibitions or similar formats.
  • Demonstrated ability to present underrepresented histories.
  • A successful track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
