Axi Recruitment is working with an established large-scale business in the finance sector for a Credit Controller to join their finance function. The successful candidate will have experience in a credit control environment and be comfortable dealing with all elements of the role including sales ledger, chasing debtors, credit reporting, and setting up new customer accounts into the system.

Job Details:

  • Manage the sales ledger system to ensure it runs effectively and efficiently.
  • Daily monitoring of internal accounts and credit limits to prevent any potential issues.
  • Assist with setting up new customer accounts on the Kerridge system, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Run credit reports for uplifts, new accounts, and review credit limits to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Post daily bank payments and allocate payments as needed to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Chase overdue balances and escalate debt as required to the relevant senior manager to ensure timely resolution.
  • Send accounts for further debt collection as needed, working closely with external agencies.
  • Send small debts to the small claims court as required, following company procedures.
  • Deal with customer payment queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist with sales ledger and credit control functions, and control the month-end procedure to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Daily support to the Credit Manager, providing assistance and guidance as needed.

Experience:

  • Experience working with a busy multi-branch ledger, with a strong understanding of financial systems and processes.
  • Experience of working with computer software, including Excel and Kerridge, with a strong understanding of data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of insured debt, insurance claims, and small claims court procedures, with a strong understanding of financial regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Be motivated, pro-active, and responsible, with a strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
