Senior Clinical Radiographer

Orpington, Greater London, United Kingdom King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

An exceptional opportunity has emerged within the Radiology division at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are seeking a dedicated and HCPC registered Clinical Radiographer to become an integral part of our innovative team. This is a pivotal moment to join us as we enhance our facilities with state-of-the-art imaging technology.

We invite applications from radiographers who possess substantial post-graduate experience in X-ray, theatre imaging, and fluoroscopy. Experience in advanced imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology, or Cardiac Catheter Labs is advantageous, although we offer training opportunities in these areas. Our department is also planning to implement an out-of-hours MRI service, providing further training prospects for successful candidates.

The Radiology department at King's College Hospital delivers comprehensive imaging services across various specialties, including trauma, neurology, urology, cardiology, and oncology. The diverse and engaging workload offers numerous opportunities for professional development and clinical experience. Our department recently achieved a significant milestone by performing the UK's first Thyroid ablation using our advanced imaging suite.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Clinical Radiographer, you will be expected to manage your own patient workload, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained. This includes accurate documentation within the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving Communications System (PACS) for each patient encounter.

You will provide a continuous quality imaging service, including X-ray, mobile, fluoroscopy, and theatre imaging, ensuring timely and courteous service delivery that respects the clinical, physical, and cultural needs of patients.

Once trained, you will rotate through CT, Interventional Radiology, and Cardiac Catheter Labs.

You will have the opportunity to lead within the department, consulting with senior colleagues as necessary, and will be accountable for your professional conduct. Collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team is essential.

Our department also hosts undergraduate radiographers on clinical placements, and you will play an active role in their training and supervision, fostering a supportive learning environment. A passion for teaching and mentoring is essential.
