Job Description

Job Title: Manufacturing Project Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Project Manager to join our team at RENISHAW PLC. As a key member of our operational team, you will be responsible for managing the Manufacturing New Product Introduction (NPI) functional groups to generate Manufacturing Strategies and Gate Reviews as part of the New Product Development PIP process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Manufacturing NPI teams to ensure prompt and efficient service to divisional product development groups.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the Manufacturing NPI teams' new product development input working within the Product Innovation Process.
  • Coordinate the multi-disciplinary activities of various Manufacturing based individuals and teams to provide a prompt and efficient service to divisional new product development teams.
  • Create and maintain Manufacturing activity plans and documentation, ensuring process adherence and good working practices.
  • Develop and implement product manufacturing strategies that reflect the wider Manufacturing strategy, highlighting risk areas and determining and proposing mitigations.
  • Manage Gate Review responses, ensuring input from functional areas and making recommendations on preparedness to Project Teams.
  • Regularly report on Manufacturing project input status, risks, and mitigations as agreed with stakeholders, communicating through written reports, conversations, and presentations.
  • Manage seconded resource requirement reviews and identify actions and mitigations working with divisional and Manufacturing teams.

Requirements:

  • High level of personal discipline and motivation, with a keen sense of responsibility for project success.
  • Proactive, a completer-finisher, highly organized, and flexible in approach to meet the needs of the day-to-day project environment.
  • Project management experience, with a genuine interest in a career working in a world-leading engineering company on high-tech, high-complexity products and processes.
  • Knowledge of Design for Manufacture/Assembly principles and experience within manufacturing operations and processes.
  • A true experience of being an integral part of a manufacturing and NPI environment, contributing to cutting-edge product and process design and implementation.
