With a commitment to combating loneliness, Age UK Plymouth organizes numerous regular activities and special events designed to foster community inclusion. Their information and advice service collaborates with various organizations and charities to offer solutions for improving the quality of later life.

Additionally, Age UK Plymouth, in partnership with Livewell Southwest, operates a 24-bed short-term Care Centre that facilitates 'step down' care from acute services, aiming to prevent hospital admissions and promote independence before returning home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with trustees and partners to formulate and implement a strategic plan that empowers individuals over 50 and their caregivers to enjoy a full and independent life.
  • Build and nurture a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, effective communication, and the delivery of superior services.
  • Devise and execute fundraising initiatives to support identified priorities and projects, ensuring sustainable income streams and investment.
  • Lead a dynamic organization eager to expand its reach and enhance its impact.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven experience in strategic leadership with exceptional inspirational skills.
  • Demonstrated empathy and a genuine interest in supporting older adults, individuals living with dementia, and their caregivers.
  • Ability to cultivate and sustain positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Visionary mindset with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Experience in financial forecasting and reporting.
  • A commercial perspective, with a track record of identifying and capitalizing on new income-generating opportunities.
