About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Overhead Line Engineer to join our team at AECOM. As a key member of our OLE team, you will be responsible for managing and delivering safe, economical, and quality projects for a variety of clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the Contractors Responsible Engineer and Lead designer duties for OLE design Schemes.
  • Lead the delivery and management of the production of technical designs for OLE including Layout Plans, Cross Sections, Allocations, Isolation Diagrams updates, bonding designs, and supporting reports and calculations.
  • Ensure designs are delivered in line with relevant, current design standards, are constructible, and apply Safe by Design principles.
  • Collaborate with other design/construction disciplines and sub-contractors.
  • Prepare fee proposal and agree with Director for submission to client, including resources and programme and respond to design queries during the construction phase and attend site meetings if required.
Requirements
  • Proven lead designer experience in significant Overhead Line technical design.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and Experienced in OLEMI and other OLE ranges i.e. UKMS, Series-1, Series-2, Mk3B, GEFF, Mk1, SICAT, SNCF, UK1 etc.
  • Familiar with Isolation diagrams and their update process.
  • Understanding of Earthing & Bonding required for electrification.
  • Proficient in Bentley MicroStation CAD software.
  • Excellent communications and organization skills.
  • Understanding of CSM-RA & Health and Safety including CDM.
  • Experience in managing teams.
  • Candidates will be able to provide the experience of working in a 3D common data environment working to BIM procedures and practices.
  • Ability to develop OLE designs.
  • BSc, BEng or MEng degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer (or working towards) and member of a professional institution.
