Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire, United Kingdom Fisher German Full time

Join Our Innovative Land Referencing Team

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity to become a part of our newly established centralized Land Referencing team within Fisher German's expanding Infrastructure Services division.

With over two decades of experience in providing land referencing services for a variety of projects, Fisher German is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic professional to contribute to our standalone Land Referencing team.

The team will engage in significant projects alongside various smaller land referencing initiatives, applying a cohesive approach and consistent practices across all tasks.

Collaborating closely with the Project Delivery and GIS teams, our Land Referencing team plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliable and thorough delivery of land referencing services to support Development Consent Orders (DCOs), Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs), or Transport and Works Act Orders (TWAOs).

We are in search of a Land Referencer with GIS expertise to join our team, enhancing our collective knowledge and experience to meet the growing demands of our clients.

This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday), with a flexible working policy that includes hybrid options.

Benefits Include:

  • A generous holiday allowance starting at 25 days, increasing to 30 days, plus your birthday off and two additional half days for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
  • Enhanced leave options for maternity, paternity, adoption, and shared parental leave.
  • Access to an online savings portal and a 24/7 mental health and wellbeing service.
  • Two days of volunteering leave per year (pro-rated for part-time employees).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Updating geospatial layers for major project initiatives.
  • Managing geospatial data within web mapping and mobile applications for significant projects.
  • Applying land referencing methodologies and processes to facilitate project execution.
  • Conducting data management, including the interpretation and analysis of all land-related data and reporting.
  • Assisting in the preparation of reference materials, specifically land plan creation, in collaboration with the main GIS team contact.
  • A degree in geography, GIS, or a related field pertinent to land.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in land referencing or GIS, particularly on major projects related to DCOs, CPOs, or TWAOs.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in GIS software, particularly Esri packages.
  • A valid driving license.

Experience with Mobile Data Collection Tools:

At Fisher German, we embrace a hybrid working model, allowing our team members to tailor their workdays to fit their schedules. Some days may involve collaborative office work, while others may focus on project tasks from home.

With a rich history dating back to 1830, we have been known as Fisher German since 2000, serving various sectors including agriculture, commercial, education, green energy and sustainability, healthcare, minerals and waste, public sector, residential, rural, telecommunications, third sector, and utilities and infrastructure.
