Agile DevOps Engineer

Purpose of the Role
To design, develop, and improve software solutions that meet business needs, leveraging various engineering methodologies and technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality software solutions using industry-standard programming languages, frameworks, and tools, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration with business objectives.
- Participate in code reviews, promote a culture of code quality, and share knowledge with peers.
- Stay informed about industry technology trends and innovations, contributing to the organization's technology communities to foster technical excellence and growth.
- Implement secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Develop effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
- Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls related to the work done.
- Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively and effectively.

This role will be based in our Knutsford office, where you will have the opportunity to spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence.
To be successful as a DevOps Engineer, you should have experience with:
- DevOps tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab, Nexus, and CI/CD.
- Hands-on experience with AWS for application hosting.
- Solid experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, Terraform, and Chef.
- Proficient development in a major programming language such as Java or Python.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- Background in engineering.
- Experience with SQL databases.
- Deployment and Change Management process ITIL.
- Knowledge of IT operations best practices.
