Job Title: Primary SEN Teacher

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Primary SEN Teacher to join our team in the Skelmersdale area. As a Primary SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering tailored lessons to meet the needs of children with a variety of learning difficulties.

About the Role:

As a Primary SEN Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a positive learning experience for students with Special Educational Needs. You will work closely with teaching assistants, parents, and external specialists to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons to meet the specific learning needs of children with SEN, in line with the national curriculum.
  • Create individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and positive behaviour.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, support staff, and multi-agency teams to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
  • Promote social and emotional development alongside academic progress.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in SEN teaching at the primary level.
  • A strong understanding of a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learners.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A commitment to the ongoing development and wellbeing of each child.
