JOB SUMMARY

Wood is seeking a Principal/Lead Civil Structural Engineer to be part of our dynamic team. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our projects across various regions, including the UK and the Middle East.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct analysis and design of steel and concrete structures in accordance with international and company-specific codes and standards (e.g., European, American, British, Shell, Aramco).
  • Perform analysis and design of structural and equipment foundations to withstand both static and dynamic loads.
  • Utilize engineering software such as STAAD.Pro, Foundation 3D, and Matt 3D for structural analysis and design.
  • Prepare Basis of Engineering/Design documents, Material Specifications, Material take-offs, Scopes of Work, Technical reports, and facilitate inter-discipline engineering/design coordination and oversight.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in preparing engineering/design calculations for steel and concrete structures, including seismic design and extreme wind load considerations, while developing design sketches and communicating necessary information to designers.
  • Collaborate with Engineers/Designers to produce CAD drawings, typically using Microstation, Smartplant 3D, AutoCAD, PDMS, and PDS.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure their requirements are met and assist Engineers/Designers in the preparation of structural and foundation drawings and details.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members.
  • Contribute to the development of a lessons learned database.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety in all aspects of work, both in design and office environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Chartered Engineer status is preferred.
  • Proficient in using civil design software such as STAAD.Pro, Foundation 3D, and Matt 3D.
  • Solid understanding of UK national and international codes and standards.
