This job description outlines the role of Store Manager as it is currently perceived by A.& F.A. Dundee Limited T/A Medicare Pharmacy Group. It is not meant to be definitive and may therefore be subject to change, in both emphasis and detail, to meet the changing needs of the business.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Operations Manager to oversee the performance and operations of the Strabane Health and Beauty Store. The successful candidate will require previous experience in a retail environment as they will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the store, driving sales, maximizing profitability, and ensuring operational excellence across the Store.
Main Responsibilities:
- Organize the staff roster to ensure adequate staffing levels for efficient store operation at all times.
- Manage daily tasks in order of priority.
- Delegate tasks to staff in a clear and concise manner and ensure they are completed quickly and efficiently.
- Act in a fair and consistent manner to all staff at all times.
- Assist in the development and introduction of new technologies and working practices designed to improve the efficiency and smooth running of the Store.
- Ensure staff are properly attired and presentable during working hours.
- Manage cash handling and ensure accurate recording of all transactions.
- Organize monies for bank deposits and maintain adequate till floats.
- Ensure the completion and submission of weekly cash sheets to Head Office.
- Address customer complaints in a professional manner and take steps to resolve the issue to the customer's satisfaction.
- Manage stock levels, including ordering, receiving, and stocking of merchandise.
- Pursue and obtain credit for any stock shortages or damage.
- Manage the EPOS system and ensure it is functioning correctly.
- Conduct regular stock checks to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Ensure the store is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- Ensure the on-going motivation, welfare, and safety of all store staff.
- Undertake any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Personal Specification:
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade A-C) or equivalent.
- Right to work in the UK (proof required).
- Previous experience in a similar role in a retail environment.
- Supervisory/Management experience in a similar role.
- IT literacy (Microsoft Office).
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional appearance.
Health and Safety:
- Familiarize yourself with the A.& F.A. Dundee Limited T/A Medicare Pharmacy Group Health and Safety Policy and adhere to all regulations regarding safe practices.
- Cooperate fully with the implementation of the company's Health and Safety arrangements and report any accidents or incidents to your branch manager.
- Ensure that agreed safe systems of work are observed by all staff.
Quality of Service:
Patient/customer satisfaction must be a top priority, with every customer treated as an individual and provided with high-quality service in terms of courtesy, kindness, interest, and efficiency.
Confidentiality:
- All staff are bound by confidentiality rules. Ensure the confidentiality of all company policies and statistics.
- This applies equally after termination of employment with A.& F.A. Dundee Limited T/A Medicare Pharmacy Group for whatever reason.
