About the Role

The Mechanical Fitter position at Daifuku BCS is a key role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our material handling system. As a skilled tradesperson, you will be responsible for ensuring the system is operational, identifying and rectifying issues safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic tests on the material handling system to identify and rectify issues
  • Conduct mechanical preventative maintenance to prevent system downtime
  • Troubleshoot mechanical malfunctions and breakdowns, performing repairs to restore the system to full functionality
  • Monitor the availability of spare parts and ensure timely ordering
  • Support the clearance of faults and materials jams
  • Use the onsite MEX maintenance schedule to plan and prioritize tasks
  • Adhere to a Zero Injuries - Safety First approach

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • A mechanical trade qualification
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical installations, maintenance, and repairs
  • Experience in mechanical drives, including gearboxes, conveyor belting
  • Experience in pneumatics and Hydraulics, including Solenoid Valves, cylinders, and flow regulators
  • Technical understanding of automated control systems in a Materials Handling Systems or high-speed processing environment
  • A strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand mechanical assembly drawings
