LGBTQ+ Domestic Abuse Case Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Domestic Abuse Case Worker to join our team at Stonewater. As a specialist in working with the LGBTQ+ community, you will be responsible for delivering person-centered support to individuals who have experienced domestic abuse.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of customers through their journey, ensuring a strengths-based approach that enables them to articulate their aspirations and realize their potential.
- Assist in administering referrals into the service, with a focus on Safety Planning that is informed by the individual's identity and any possible associated risks.
- Work with specialist support agencies and statutory organizations, particularly with local and national LGBTQ+ charities and support organizations.
- Advocate for the customers we support and support customers to move on from the service in a planned and positive way.
- Proven experience of working with the LGBTQ+ community.
- An understanding of the practical, emotional, economic, and social differences of those who are members of the LGBTQ+ community, particularly having experienced Domestic Abuse, Hate Crime, and/or Discrimination.
- Proven experience of caseload management, with a clear focus on outcomes for customers and their wider community.
- Experience in carrying out robust safety planning.
- The ability to work in partnership with specialist agencies such as mental health teams, offending services, or other relevant services.
- A specialist knowledge of local and national LGBTQ+ charities and support organizations.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Knowledge of housing and benefits advice (desirable).
