Wokingham, Wokingham, United Kingdom Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust Full time

Position Overview

Are you passionate about supporting young individuals and their families while addressing intricate mental health challenges?

At Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, we are seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and proactive professional for the role of Principal Clinical/Counselling Psychologist. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, leading, and supervising the comprehensive delivery of a high-quality, specialized psychological therapies service for adolescents and their guardians utilizing Tier 4 Hospital at Home/Day Patient Mental Health services.

Our CAMHS Phoenix unit offers specialized day care services for young people aged 12-18 years. We provide coordinated, intensive, and multifaceted interventions aimed at the prevention, diagnosis, management, and evidence-based treatment of severe and persistent mental health disorders in youth. • Develop services as necessary to guarantee that patients receive timely and appropriate interventions, integrating the latest research evidence, available resources, and understanding of local and national policies.
  • Oversee and support the psychological assessments and therapies conducted by other psychologists and clinical team members providing psychologically informed care.
  • Operate independently within professional and local guidelines, taking responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practices within the service.
  • Ensure thorough risk assessments are conducted for all off-site activities, ensuring each young person has a suitable risk assessment in collaboration with the nursing team.
  • Maintain accurate and current documentation using RIO regarding participation in activities and any pertinent information related to the young person's presentation or identified concerns/risks.
  • Participate in handovers and multidisciplinary team meetings, providing patient feedback and engaging in decision-making processes.
