Job Title: Head of Geography

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Geography to lead our thriving department and drive academic excellence in our students.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Geography department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, and promoting academic achievement among students. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of leadership, excellent teaching skills, and a passion for Geography.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Geography department, setting high standards for teaching and learning
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve student outcomes and academic achievement
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans, ensuring alignment with school goals and objectives
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff to enhance their teaching skills and subject knowledge
  • Manage departmental resources, including budgeting and staff deployment
  • Represent the department at school and external events, promoting the subject and building relationships with stakeholders
Requirements:
  • Proven leadership experience in a school setting
  • Excellent teaching and leadership skills
  • Strong subject knowledge and expertise in Geography
  • Ability to analyze data and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders
