About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cafe Manager to join our team at Luminary Bakery. As a Cafe Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our cafe, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and that our products meet the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and motivate a team of staff to deliver excellent customer service and maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness.
  • Oversee the success and operations of the cafe, including managing budgets, inventory, and supplies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and revenue, including analyzing data and making recommendations to management.
  • Train and supervise staff, including apprentices from the Luminary Programme, to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to promote the cafe and develop marketing strategies to attract new customers.
  • Ensure that the cafe meets all regulatory requirements and maintains a 5-star rating for health and safety.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for merchandising, stocking, restocking, rotating, and storing products and supplies.
  • Monitor and control labor costs, absences, and overtime, and ensure that staffing reports are accurate and submitted on time.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years' experience in the food industry, preferably in a cafe or restaurant setting.
  • Proven track record of managing a team and achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent people management and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make recommendations to management.
  • Strong technical ability to operate POS systems, scheduling software, and G-Suite.
  • Experience running or supervising a coffee or food service business.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and ability to maintain a 5-star rating.
