Job Description

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Building Services

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team at Storm Associates, a leading privately-owned Building Services Consultancy. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, working on a variety of projects across numerous market sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver coordinated design in collaboration with colleagues from various disciplines
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current industry regulatory and design standards
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff and apprentices, providing clear guidance and direction
  • Liaise professionally with clients, professional teams, contractors, and staff at all levels
  • Lead small mixed-discipline teams in project delivery
  • Attend client, design team, and project meetings
  • Conduct feasibility studies and surveys
  • Produce detailed mechanical services designs
  • Review sub-contractor design drawings and technical submissions
  • Perform site quality and legislative inspections and prepare associated reports
  • Utilise industry design guides, British Standards, and Building Regulations
  • Assist with setting design strategy

Requirements:

  • Proficient with relevant industry design software
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with a flexible attitude
