SGS UK Limited is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of our laboratory testing and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine testing and administration of consumer products within the laboratory, working independently with minimal supervision.
- Perform calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure repeatability and accuracy in sample testing.
- Apply and maintain the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the book-in process for testing samples and prepare samples for testing within the Chemistry Department.
Requirements
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths, Science, and English, or relevant experience.
- Previous experience in a science-related area of work, with a strong understanding of laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Effective working knowledge of Windows-associated packages, including MS Office.
Desirable Qualifications
- Familiarization with UKAS accreditation and laboratory testing procedures.
- Experience in preparing samples within a Hardlines Laboratory.
- Previous mechanical testing or laboratory testing experience.
- Knowledge of the toy/nursery industry and product safety regulations.
